Description Mindful Yoga is a weekly yoga class offering a slower approach to more traditional paced Hatha classes. Exploring the 8 limbs of yoga, this class is highly influenced by techniques incorporated within core mindfulness practices with a strong  focus on reducing stress, awareness of breath and slow non-striving movements while also offering self-compassion to the body, mind, and spirit. Designed by instructor Sherry Klauer 200RYT and MBSR teacher candidate, each class will incorporate meditation, pranayama (breath work), gentle asana (physical practice) and a brief dharma talk.  Seeking to go beyond the asana focus so dominant in the American style of yoga practice, Sherry developed this class after years of practice and teaching in studios and gyms. At times, you will flow through a sequence at your own pace in order to really “feel” the movements while also tapping into the deeper part of yourself; releasing criticism and judgment. So, come and explore all 8 limbs of yoga in this class designed to enhance your mindfulness and yoga practice while also helping you to access your individual calm and center. Due to the gentle nature of this class, all levels are welcome.  No prior experience with yoga or meditation is necessary, in fact, this is a great way to get your feet wet with a little of everything!  Come with an open mind, a gentle curiosity, a warm heart, and some comfy clothes. Chrysalis will provide yoga mats, blocks, straps and blankets but also feel free to bring your own yoga mat!  Register online to guarantee a spot! Drop ins welcome. Facilitator Sherry Klauer, currently holds certifications in yoga, personal training, group fitness, coaching and is pursuing certification in MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction).  Sherry dove head first into wellness after her daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009.  She learned how to manage her anxiety surrounding the diagnosis through exercise, nutrition and exploring mindfulness.
