Chrysalis Annual Event: Tea and Spirit Award Ceremony Theme: Living Fully Are you living fully? Do you wake up each morning inspired to step into the day with purpose and passion while also staying connected to the world around you? Honoring individuals who live a purpose driven life and continuously impact their community to be more compassionate, consciousness, wise and creative is rare. Here at the Chrysalis Institute, we’re inspired to carve out a special day on June 11th from 4-6 pm at the Roslyn Dining Hall to honor an individual who encompasses our values and inspires the Richmond community to live fully each and every day! The Burbank and Saunders Chrysalis Spirit Award will be given to honor such an individual. The Spirit Award will annually recognize the work of an individual or organization who lives into the Chrysalis Spirit and advances the mission of Chrysalis. An incredibly special aspect of this award, is the actual award itself – a bronze sculpture. Designed by an award winning sculptor whose work is shown nationally and collected internationally, B. Millner, husband of the late founder of Chrysalis, Nancy Millner, and inaugural board member for Chrysalis, has generously donated his time, talent, and treasure by creating this award in the image of the Chrysalis Spirit. His sculpture, this award, is housed in the Chrysalis Gathering Space. The sculpture is an abstract representation of transformation and the twisted and nonlinear path of spirituality. It has parts that reach for the light and parts that dwell in the darkness. We hope you will join us on June 11th from 4-6 pm at the Roslyn Dining Hall to honor Susan Wilkes, support Chrysalis, and remember why living fully is at the heart of all we do. Susan Wilkes, an early member of Chrysalis, has earned this honor several times over. She played a critical leadership role in Chrysalis’ early years and has stayed at the forefront of progress for our organization. She was a key ideator of the faculty and our resulting cornerstone curriculum, Spiritual Paths. Susan continually innovates programs and opportunities for Chrysalis through things like trips to Iona, retreats, and unique classes that support our work with Mindfulness, such as Mindful Self Compassion and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Susan shows her love for Chrysalis and our impact by mentoring fellows, staff, and new facilitators. Ticket Information Buying a ticket priced at $50.00 allows you to make a donation to support Chrysalis as part of a thriving Richmond. Want to give an additional gift in honor of Susan?
